Insulation, Radiant and Vapor Barriers - Insulating Garage

I would like to insulate our garage and need some advice about which type of insulation to use (r-value, foam, batts, etc). Our garage is approximately 25 feet x 13 feet. The garage is attached to the house and the kitchen sits behind the far wall. This makes the kitchen very cold in the winter. The wall is currently insulated using batts but they do not seem to work very well. I would like to focus primarily on this wall. I am assuming that I should be using a higher R-value on this wall. Also... should I be applying vapour barrier from the outside wall or the inside wall? I recently rebuilt our kitchen and noticed that there was a vapor barrier on the inside of the house behind the drywall. Is it necessary to have a vapor barrier on both sides?

I'd definitely install radiant barrier on the garage door. That will help keep garage from extreme seasonal temp changes, which will translate into less going into kitchen.
