My home was built in '53. When tearing up the bathroom the plastic tub surround was holding up cardboard which held up blown in insulation in the stud cavities. When investigating further it looked like there was roofing felt on the exterior wall board (not sure of proper term). I plan on installing a kerdi shower over drywall or cbu and was wondering if I need to put in insulation with a vapor barrier or just plain insulation? I heard that the kerdi shower could cause a double vapor barrier. Please help. Thanks.
