we have a honeywell beckett oil furnace, model r7184b. We ran out of fuel, which has happened once before, and so had to bleed the line. It bled out fine, got a nice stream of oil, and the furnace kicked on. However, it had a high pitched whining noise. We shut it down, thinking maybe we didn't get all the air out. Bled the line again, and got some sputtery oil, and then, just air, no oil at all. We bled it couple more times, after restarting it from lockout, and still no oil, just air. Any suggestions? I am in Maine, and it's damn COLD here!

Maybe the filter associated with the tank is all plugged now, since you ran it empty.
