Planning to install laminate floor with pad already atttached to planks (Pergo product) but needs vapor barrier first. I am finding now vapor barrier with pad built in and plain plastic sheet vapor barriers. Would it be wrong to install the vapor barrier with the pad then the laminate resulting in two (2) layers of pad?
If one layer of pad is good would two layers of pad be better?

You should check with the manufacturer. The additional padding may cause excessive movement and may void any warranties that come with the product.
