My husband replaced a cartridge on the diverter in our shower because the tub spout ran way too much while the shower was on. Moen said that there was debris in the cartridge and sent us the part.
Now when I turn on the hot water only it is very orange (like Tang) for a minute or so then runs clear. I was told to run the hot water until it ran out to get any sediment out of the water tank...still have orange water - any ideas?
It must drip during the day because there is a dull orange stain every evening that wipes off easily but feels almost greasy.

There is iron pipe somewhere in the system. All pipe should be copper, brass, or plastic, otherwise you will get rust(orange water). If it leaves a rust spot on the tub, my guess would be the pipe from the shower valve(diverter) to the tub spout.

Do you have a well or city water? If you have a well your orange tinted water probably naturally occuring iron in the water.
