I installed a wireless motion detector (5890PI) in my garage and assigned it to zone type 10 - interior delay (to allow me time to get to the panel when entering thru the garage) and added the detector to the zone list 05 - night/stay list (so it would be active at night). Unfortunately, the detector is not activating at all when in night/stay. Any idea why?

Dumb question: why not use Type 02?
Type 02
Entry/Exit
Burglary #2
• Assign to zones that are used for entry and exit and require more time than the primary
entry/exit point.
• Provides a secondary entry delay, in same manner as entry delay #1.
• Entry delay #2 is programmable for each partition (field *36).
• Exit delay is same as described for Type 01.

i took your advice and made the garage motion det. a Type 02 - entry/exit. I have my panel set on chime. Now when the kids are playing in the garage - it is constantly chiming. Any way to disable a chime for a particular zone?

You can create a zone list and program chime by zone.

Actually, for a 20p there is a better/easier choice:

Zone type 10 (interior with delay)
