UGH! (OK, I hit a botton and everything disappeared and now I have to re-write what I just typed)
Below is a photograph of my current jetpump and tank setup. I will be replacing the jetpump since the motor is creating quite a racket and I plan to replace it before it farts out alltogether. The pump is a Wayne 1/2hp shallow well jet pump. What you don't see is the pressure gauge and shutoff ball valve off camera and downstream of the tank. Also there is a breaker box having a double 40amp fuse/switch to the pump.
Could some of you please critique the current configuration and recommend any changes I probably should make when replacing the pump?
I had posted earlier about replacing the pump http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?p=1322547#post1322547 ) and I was given excellent info regarding replacing the breaker box, to which I greatly appreciate. Now I'd like some recommendations to improve the current configuration.
Thanks in advance!

I would suggest a Ace 1/2 hp pump for your replacement.
I think its rated at 10 to 12 gpm.
Just bought one a while ago, about $149.
Its what I use for my 4 gpm shallow well.
I think its a good pump for the money.
