I have a Poulan Model 25CVA Chain Saw 14" bar that is about 20 years old. I runs pretty well, but is a little hard to start. My main concern is there seems to be excessive chain & bar oil coming out. Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be.
Also, I could use a little help with the hard starting. The carb seems to be adjusted correctly

What are you using for bar oil? It must be bar & chain oil, not motor oil! For the hard starting i'd say the carb is in need of reconditioning since it appears as though you have tried the fuel screws to no avail.

Dang, That should have been first on my list. Thanks for reminding me of what I forgot. I will give that a try.
Thanks again

Poulan S25CVA has a diaphragm pump for the oiler, there is no adjustment for the oil delivery on this model, it pumps oil whenever the engine is running.

Thanks for the info -- I will put that in my memory bank. But I was using the wrong type of oil as suggested by puey61
