my craftsman riding mower engine cuts off when you release the cltuch,even if the transmission is in netural can anyone tell me what could be the problem

Check the seat safety switch with a multimeter on ohm's setting and make sure it's opening and closing, Also make sure it's plugged in ALL the way. There is a little switch inside the plug connector on some that is tripped when it's plugged onto the seat switch.
