Assuming the electrical service is appropriate, is it possible to convert a propane heat pump type home furnace to electric by changing just a module without replacing the entire unit.

Do I already know the answer to this???

I dont know of any Lp heat pumps. I do know of Gas AC units that only cool. Do you mean the back up heater????

Obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about. My daughter and her husband recently bought a house. The cenrtral heat and air is what I thought to be a heat pump but I may be wrong about that. The heat source is LP gas.

Now that I think about it..........:wall:

Lp around here is closely approaching $2 gallon up from about .59 cents a few years ago.

I'm wondering if a conversion to total electric is possible.:)

Still not sure just what you have there. But Yes a heat pump can put in the home. Go to and compare fuel cost.LP to electric. Also have to think about it. That a heat pump down to say 30F will give you 3 times more heat for a $1 than just a electric furnace can
