I have constructed a custom shower cubicle with cement board.

(The pan has been constructed with PVC membrane, floor mortar, and a three-piece drain).

There is slight concavity at the base of one of the walls. I would like to bring this up flat with thinset mortar before tiling.

Is this a satisfactory solution? Has anyone tried it?

I'd be most grateful for any guidance.

Thanks.

Sure...go for it.:) Make the repair and allow it to harden before attempting the tile.:)

I had an issue with the liner pushing out the hardibacker at the bottom.

I tacked up some ferring strips on the 2x4s above the liner, and my walls are dead plumb.

I think this might be what you are asking.

Doesn't matter, it can still be planed with thinset if it isn't too deep. The thinset will want to sag so a couple of passes may be required. Should also wet the wallboard with a wet sponge before the first application of thinset.:)
