Gas and Oil Home Heating Furnaces - Help! Can I use diesel - Weil Mclain Gold?

I ran out of oil and put 5 gallons of diesel in the tank to get by tongiht. Before proceeding I need advice as I became cocnerned that this may not worlk or be a hazard with this unit. I had done it with the original unit once.

Now I have a Weil Mclain Gold with a Becket AFG oil burner.

Can I light the furnace or do I need to drain the diesel somehow? How would you drain the tank if needed? Sorry if this is an inapropriate question, but your help is greatly appreciated,

As per Becket AF/AFG oil burner manual, they can run on #1 or #2 fuel oil. Diesel is #1 fuel oil.

Thanks so much. I have a new issue to ask aboiut. I tried to bleed the unit and did not close the valve in time to fire the unit. Now the red reset button is is not triggering. The LED is blinking every .5 seconds.

Try holding the reset button for 45 seconds. The new controls have a 3 try hard lockout. It prevents people from loading up a unit with fuel.
