Hi I'm building a utility trailer the bed is 6'6" X10' . How do you determine the lenght of the tongue? thanks:blah:

Like anything it is a trade-off. A longer tongue is slower to react when backing (easier) and possibly a smoother tow, but it is longer and heavier. A shorter tongue is cheaper, lighter and smaller but is harder to back (reacts faster) but turns sharper.

The tongue should be long enough so that when you jack-knife the trailer, the front corner of the trailer will clear the rear fender of the towing vehicle.
