I have a Trane forced air furnace.
My pilot light keeps going out.
I replaced the thermo couple two years ago and haven't had any problems with it.
I've had the power to the basement off a couple times in the last couple weeks. Having the power off shouldn't have cut the pilot light though should it?
This morning at 6 AM after I was awaken by a sharp elbow to the ribs and went to a cold basement, the pilot light was off, the power was on but I could hear a slight buzz. I turned it off and was able to get the pilot relit after about 20 minutes.
What's going on?

That buzz could be the transformer on the furnace lot of them make a noise. Id say try a new T/C and also make sure you clean the pilot light and its venturi clean . So you have a good blue flame on the T/C and it gets red. No power off should not have anything to do with the pilot.
