Hi All,
I've got a not-too-old Tecumseh self propelled lawn mower. The pull string is located at the top of the handle and the mower is the type where you have to squeeze the dead-man handle to enable starting.
The starter rope broke and I believe I heard a spring unwind itself when this happened. I am planning to take the top off this weekend and poke around. What can I expect to find here? Will I have to screw around with this spring or do I simply need to replace the broken rope wrap it around something inside and be done with it. The rope snapped off inside the mower.
Are there repair manuals for lawn mowers? The engines are simple enough but all these little mechanical things, like the drive, the starter rope etc I've not been able to get any info to help repair. LM came from Benney's and might be an MTD but.....
