Electronic Alarms and Home Security Devices - First Time Home Security System - Feedback???

Hello Everyone,

First of all, nice forum, good info, just stumbled across it today while doing my research.

I'm looking to install a wireless home security system and I am looking for any constructive feedback on vendors and systems.

I have a three level house with windows and doors that are accessible from the back of the house on the lowest and 2nd level from a deck. I am currently thinking about installing the following:

- GE Simon XT control panel with GSM option
- GE micro door/window sensors on all doors
- installing a motion detector and window breakage detector in the two rooms that have windows accessible from the ground/deck (with no stairs to the ground and about 10 feet up)
- installing a motion detector in the living room that includes the front door and windows that are only accessible if you used 10 foot step ladder

So all points of entry on the first two levels will be covered with the two rooms I'm really concerned about having the additional window breakage detectors. I am also looking at the Livewatch GSM 24 hour monitoring service.

So, my questions are:

1 - Is the GE Simon XT a good system, anyone have any operational experience?

2 - Has anyone dealt with SafeMart and have you had any issues

3 - Anyone have the Livewatch GSM 24hour monitoring service, Good ? Bad??

4 - From what I describe above, sound adequate? Should I add additional sensors on all windows?
