First off, great site here, thanks for having me. I installed this CT stat in my father-in-laws house about 4 years ago, it went bad so he bought a RTH3100c. I installed it an have some issues, it will not come on in HEAT, it will come on in E-Heat, also when put in COOL the heat pump comes on. This is a Heat Pump unit with Electric heat strips. Heres the wiring for both stats.

Could anyone tell whats happening here, Thanks in advance !!! The book states of course that if old stat had W1,W2 and Y wires, contact heating/cooling contractor.I don't understand why the Y and W1 were jumpered on the CT stat from the factory either...

Okay, When I got home this evening I went through the stat setup again and entered electric furnace for both the Aux Heat and Emer-Heat parameters, the heat now works and E-Heat works but when put in A/C I still get heat pump, My guess is the Y and W2 wires should be together??? Please help !!!!

What is the Make of the Heat Pump?
Make sure the O wire is by itself, and not touching anything else?

The outdoor unit is a Intertherm, but I found the problem, it was a bad thermostat, the O terminal wasn't making in the stat, therefore not energizing the reversing valve. I got a co-worker who is a licensed heating/air tech to come over and check it out. When I put the old stat on four years ago we got a bad stat(Honeywell also). Took it back and they gave me a new one identical in place of it and it worked fine. Anyway, I've got an old mercury switch on it now.
Thanks for your help anyway, Chris
