I have a DSC PC5010 panel and would like to add a new zone for a new door to the garage. I would like to make it Zone 3. I downloaded the installation manual but couldn't figure it out. The wiring looks like I need to put the red wire in Z3 and the green wire in COM. I have the installer code and master code. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you never had a zone there then it is probobly set to null. If you have the programming worksheet book (or pdf) it shows this info on page 4.

*8 [installer code]
Enter Section Number [ 001]

You now have to enter codes for zones 1-8. Use that page for a guide of the values.

So for instance for the third zone you would enter 01 or 02 instead of the 00 probobly in place. (01 means delay-1, 02 means delay-2), or 03 for instant.

Good luck. If you read through that worksheet and the installer pdf it is pretty good at connecting the two.

When I try that sequence it lets me enter the codes for zone 1 and zone 2 and shows me the zones as I enter the codes. However it doesn't show me the zone numbers when I enter zone 3 through 8 and it didn't activate zone 3. Is there sonething I am missing or do I need to do something else first?
