I want to change a standard carrier thermostat Model #HH07AQ170 S/N T874R1384 to a White-Rogers 1F81-261 programmable. I don't have a wiring diagram of the Carrier Unit. It has 8 wire terminals in use, and the White-Rogers only has 7 terminals available, C R G W W2 Y Y2. I have the wiring diagram and terminal designations for the White-Rogers, but unfortunately I don't have the terminal designations for the Carrier thermostat at this time. Looking for crossover wiring diagram from the carrier to the white-rogers unit.

You dont say what you have on the old tstat there? Might look on the blower door of the unit most have a wire schematic there. Did the old one have a R ,or a Rc, or a ,Rh they could be the same or a jumper on them. What do you have there for heat and cool will help.

is this for a heat pump? If so, I don't see this working out for you.

Thanks for your response. Yes it is a heat pump, so now I know the White-Rogers thermostat I have won't work. I'll pick up a new thermostat for a heat pump.

Look into the Honeywell T-stat's.

What is your back up heat source? If you plan on setting back the tstat to save money, and you have electric back up, don't plan on saving... Plan on spending more, unless you got a good stat that has an outdoor sensor that allows you to "Lock-Out" the aux heat in recovery.
