Greetings -

I recently installed a Concord 4 system (love it) and would like to now setup for monitoring. Being as I have VoIP (Comcast Digital Voice), I am considering adding the Telguard TG-1 to be the primary communications device.

I can purchase a TG-1 online for about half of what the CS I plan to use charges, but I am unsure if a standard TG-1 comes with everything I need to hook up with a Concord 4.

Anyone have experience hooking these up? Is the Telguard a good unit for this purpose / panel or are there others which I should consider?

Thanks!

You have to be careful here in that you get the CORRECT Telguard radio...They only made one BUS module radio for the Concord system (not currently being manufactured anymore). It was GE part #60-850-01 (high power), or 60-850. Essentially, it was a Telguard radio built on a GE superbus module. There are other Telguard radios you can hook up to a Concord and it will work. The catch with those however, is that you have to trip them via an output...they will not be full data bus reporting like the BUS radio I described above. The other option for a BUS radio on a Concord is the Alarm.Com module.

Thanks for the suggestions and quick reply GEGuy - I will get the alarm.com BUS module due to the better integration.

The alarm.com GSM unit is a great unit, but you must use a CS the is an alarm.com dealer. Both the Telguard TG1 and TG4 will transmit full reports. The telguard digital units work as a dial capture device, the telguard is wired to the panels phone connection and captures the data, either SIA or CID and transmits it as SMS text messages to their routing center, where it is then transmitted over phone, ip or cellular to the CS. TG1 is a primary cellular device and the TG4 can be prime or backup.

You can purchase radio TG 1 is a primary radio . However you would still need your alarm co. to program system. Most alarm companies won't allow no one that is not authorized to go into programming. Plus with no land line alarm company can't even download system even if your able to install radio on your own. Concord requires a special keypad to program it & installers code that alarm companies usually won't reveal for security reasons. You may save on costs of TG 1 but when it comes to your security suggest contacting your alarm company for professional help. Many companies offer specials nowadays especially if your a current customer . On the monitoring portion of your security system it is hard to get around doing it yourself because its your alarm company that provides the account numbers & receiver numbers that you would need .Any other additions such as sensors for door/windows or motions can be bought also. But again still requires your alarm company to program devices . Certainly your alarm company will not warranty equipment bought on your own. Its always better to check with your alarm company first .

Hello,
Recently i installed the GE Concord 4 system and hooked with nextalarm.com and so far OK. I changed all the main codes like system code, master code, download code etc..
I would like to take advantage of partitions, so i put couple of sensors in my basement and added them to Partition 2 and tried to assign Partition 2 to a wireless kef fob. somehow i am not able to see the "user codes" option in the programming part. i can see all the options like date and time , options, etc.. but not "user codes". how do i access the user codes option?
please someone can help me?

Thanks

You need to go into user programming with the MASTER code, not the installer code....

or do this...
9+installer code+3+#
