I want to install a kitchen sink in my basement. Rough-in plumbing was installed when house was built so I know there is a drain line under the slab, but is there a way to find it? Or do I have to take educated guesses with a jackhammer.

What do you mean by " rough-in plumbing was installed"

How far is your sink going to be from the soil stack ?Is there a drain you can tie into If the floor isn't to thick, you can perferate it with a hammer drill and knock it out with a sledge hammer. You will most likely have to dig a trench and tie into something.
