I bought a 26" LCD made by Mintek. It was from an auction. I was told that the DVD player that is built in has a DVD stuck in the TV. So I opened it up and got the DVD out. Now it will not go out of the DVD mode at all. Not with the remote or manually. Nothing works at all. It will only turn on and off. The screen works but come up with the DVD screen only and says DVD in the upper corner as well as the numbers "10801". It is a Mintek DTV 265 D. Any help. I paid too much for a broken TV and want a cheap fix if possible.

It still thinks there is a DVD in the tray. Quick searches reveal that this seems to be a common problem with that brand and there is no DIY fix.
You'll have to take it in for service.

It seems as though there should be some type of fix for this but if I can not find it here it must not exist...
Thanks

That's not necessarily true. Just because there's no specific fix on this site doesn't mean it isn't listed elsewhere. As I said, though, I did a search and came up with several sites that listed it as a common problem that isn't a DIY fix.
The only thing I can think of for you to try is to see if there's a connector that you can disconnect between the DVD section and the main board. If the DVD can't talk to the processor, it might free up the input switch so you can at least watch the TV.
Be careful poking around inside the TV! Please read the TV Safety sticky (http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?t=309110) at the top of the index for this forum.
