Hi,

I just registered after reading this forum for help with my Arrowhead CT61. First, I wanted to thank you guys, as this has been an invaluable resource in getting my master code reset and a PAC programmed (thanks MrRonFL).

The system SEEMS to be working properly at this time, however, I can't seem to get the alarm to "trigger" when it's armed.

I enter 1+my PAC, and the system arms. After waiting for the delay timer, it won't "go off" if I open a door or window (no matter which one).

The sensors seem fine; when the system is disarmed and I open a door/window, the "System Ready" light goes off. But for some reason this darn thing just won't alarm when it's supposed to.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Mitch

Have you tested the siren by simply jumpering the alarm relay? You may simply have a bad siren.

Thanks for the quick response...I'm pretty sure the siren is working; I have a panic button on the system as well and that sets off the siren as expected.

When I open a door/window while the system is alarmed, nothing happens...no lights change on the panel, no beeps from the panel, nothing.

It's very possible that the previous owner had all of the openings programmed as silent alarms.

It is also possible that the system programming is scrambled. If one of these systems is allowed to operate on a failing battery, often random parts of the system program can be altered.

In either case, the only way to sort it out is to use the installer manual and step through the program and compare what it should be to what's actually in the program.

When the system is "NOT" armed do you see any action on your touchpad as you open a door or window? Is the chime feature enabled?

Often times on old systems the contacts freeze up with age & lack of use. Try tapping on the contact with the door/window open (one at a time) with the handle of your screwdriver a few times to see if it frees up the contact.

Sometimes they free up, otherwise they need replaced. Remember you mostlikely have multiple contacts tied to a zone so just do one @ a time.
