Hello everyone thanks in advance for any help. The furnace does not want to work. The Fan is great...it blows cold air, I checked the thermostat, changed the batteries just in case, clean the inside etc... nothing. I tried tripping the circuit breaker, turn it off then on...nothing. I went into the furnace itself, took the cover to most of the electrical looking for an online fuse could not see any. Any ideas?

Hi Dan thans for the reply... It is an electric Furnace. It's a brand that I do not think exist anymore "Magna Flow" from Magna Flow Industries here in LaPorte, Texas.
The Model is MFFX 18-5
This model was designed to be ceiling mounted (concealed location)
Is equipped with a 40VA transformer
These units were leak checked with nitrogen before sealing.

I have tried to locate an inline fuse or breaker but much to avail. The Blower works well but only on the manual position at the thermostat, it wont respond on the AUTO position. I hear the thermostat trying to "KICK" in but without any results. I have reseted the thermostat, clean the inside and changed the batteries... NADA

What do you think?

There may be a wiring diagram on the inside of the blower access panel. You may have a manual-reset limit switch that has tripped (most likely due to a plugged air filter) or the heat sequencer may have died.

Furd..Thanks for your feedback, this manual-reset limit switch that you speak of, can it be reset or does reseting means re-placing the part. (Air filters are changed every month in this enviroment) mainly due to allergies that my wife suffers from.
I ask this because if I am to employ a process of elimination of possible cause, this I think it is the first logical thing to eleminate dont you think?
Thanks again

There may, or may not, be any manual resets in an electric furnace. They could be located in a couple of different places in the circuit and, of course, in just about any physical location.

Do you have an electrical multimeter and know how to use it? Have you been able to find a wiring diagram of your unit?

Another possibility is that you have multiple heat elements and a heat sequencer. The sequencer can fail and that would result in no heat.

Do you have a line-voltage or a low-voltage thermostat? If you have a low-voltage thermostat and the furnace blower operates your low-voltage transformer is probably okay.

Can you take some pictures of the furnace with all of the access panels open? Clear close ups of the wiring and internal controls will be a big help as will a picture of the wiring diagram if you find it.

Pictures need to be uploaded to a photo hosting site and then the specific URLs posted here.
