I have a DSC panel with board PC5010, the LCD 5500Z keypad and a zone expander. I wanted to add the PC5102-433NA wireless receiver with keyfobs to the system. I went to install the receiver today. With it connected, I started the programming portion of the project. When I got to enrolling keyfobs by ESN, the panel would only accept five digits and it wouldn't accept hex entry at all. My PC5010 books are 2.0. Now I'm thinking the books are not what belonged with my alarm card. The board seems to be marked .04. So I'm thinking this board is a lower revision that rev 2.
Is there any way to flash the PC5010 with later software? Is there any way to program the PC5102 receiver to accept these transmistters and then connect it up?

Is your zone expander a wired zone expander, or a wireless zone expander? The 5102 and the 5132 boards cannot coexist on the same system.
No there is no way to flash the firmware on these panels: The version number is on the main IC chip that has the model number on it.

The zone expander card is PC5108. The board is screened 5010 Rev 04A. The main chip has a date code of 1997. I don't see anything on the chips that gives the revision level. I guess it's too old to support the 5102-443NA wireless board.

1997 puts that system back to the original release version. I don't think your hardware is compatible.

DSC says "If an older key with a 5 digit ESN is being enrolled, add the digit[0] to the beginning of the ESN (e.g., ESN=61234 enter 061234)"
This is from the 5102 installation manual and I've seen it im many other DSC manuals. I've not had a need to try it myself.

The issue, back in March, was that the main control firmware was not compatible with the new add on board.
The PC 5010 has been revised a few times in the decade since the original poster's system was shipped, and there is not an easy way to update them without replacing the motherboard.
