the model # is 110 92281100. It fills just fine for the wash cycle, empties properly but when it reaches the rinse cycle, at the point where it is supposed to fill with water, it is 'bucking' and there is a loud 'clicking' as if it is trying to get water through the pipes but not quite succeeding.

My husband wants to just buy a new washer, but perhaps someone here will have a fix for this we can handle on our own.

Thanks for any info you can provide

If it fills and drains properly on some cycles , but not others, I would suspect a Failed Timer, or control .

is that something relatively easy to repair, or should we call in a repair person? Is it expensive i.e. is it even worth replacing either of those parts or should we just buy a new washer?

Thanks

oh, and one more thing, it's doing this on every cycle type - normal, heavy duty and permanent press. It's as if it's spitting water intermittently into the tub.

Rinse cycle work on cold water only, make sure you are getting cold water coming in from the wall ( cold not shut off) usually water fill valve bad.

hmm... it does that with a cold rinse cycle, but not a warm rinse cycle. I think you might be onto something here.

thanks.

but..one more clue. I just checked - it does not do it with any cold wash cycle - fills normally. Only cold rinse cycles.
stranger and stranger....
