I just moved into a house that came with this Admiral glasstop electric stove. I plugged it in to use, turned on a burner. The burner got hot, my water was heating up, and then after about 10 seconds the stove started making a beeping sound and where the clock was there was a flashing F1. I hit the stop/clear, the beeping and code stopped. After another 10 seconds, it started again. During this time, the burner stays hot. This beeping with the code happens as long as the stove is plugged in. It doesn't matter if a burner is on or not. I've tried to research this with Google and was directed to this site. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

A few threads back, there is someone with the same problem on a Kenmore.....I believe They are both manufactured by "Whirlpool"

I got a ton of info by "'Googling" "Kenmore Range F1 Error".

Sift thru it and find the closest match to your situation...

It mentions an ERC board failure, or a Oven Sensor...But without being in your kitchen, you are better equipped to match symptoms....

The F1 code can mean that the clock has failed or the touch pad is defective.

Some clock the touch pad is a part of the clock and others the touch pad is plug in to the clock with a ribbon cable.

If you have a separate touch pad you can unplug it and see if the code come up when you plug the stove back in.

If the code does not come up with the touch pad unplugged you will need to replace the touch pad.

If the code does come up with the touch pad unplugged then you will have to replace the clock.

Can you please supply your model number?

Here is a good place to get appliance parts (http://www.partselect.com).

Now that you bring up the clock, the knob to set the clock/timer is missing and the stem is pushed in a bit, making it almost impossible to grab and turn. I'm going to pull out some needle nose pliers and see if I can grab the stem and pull it out some and adjust the clock. When I plug in the stove to use it, I do notice that the clock is blinking. Thanks for the info.....
