I am about to install my third floor and wonder if anyone knows of a good way to install the first few and last few planks on 3/4" hardwood (3" finished maple, tongue and groove).

The majority of the planks I use a flooring nailer that I rent, but I cannot fit this nailer on the first 4 or so and last 4 or so planks, thus ending up nailing those in with a hammer.

I sink the nails into the top part of the plank and then later top off the holes with matching colored wood filler.

However, is there a better way to do this than how I am doing?

Thx!
