I just replaced an old keypad with the 6160. No major problems ... the old codes worked immediately, seems to be going okay.

However, we have grown accustomed to receiving the delayed entry warning beeps to cue us to turn off the system when necessary and my keypad has now turned the system off from doing this.

The manual states that the installer may have coded the delay entry to sound beeps but it does not say how I can now re-start this feature.

This may be self-evident to those who do this regularly, but now all three keypads in the house (the one new one and two old ones) all behave in the same way as the new keypad. In other words, we're not getting the warning beeps out of the old keypads, either.

Any suggestions for a true novice?

That's normally a feature turned on and off in system programming. Keypad commands don't normally turn the entry and exit delay tones off on most Ademco systems.

What is the _system_ these keypads are attached to. There are big differenced from one system model to another.

Mr. Ron,

Thank you for your reply. I was simply not being patient enough. The warning beeps do, in fact, sound if the alarm has been set for a couple of minutes. I was not waiting long enough before testing.

Thanks again and I apologize for taking your time for something so simple!
