Hi everyone,

I think I did something I wasn't supposed to do- I think.

One of the alarm cables coming from upstairs ends in the basement halfway to the alarm box which is located in the basement; the builder ran an extension to make it all the way to the alarm box. That extension was joined, routed and stapled very badly so I split the 2 cables, ran the extension along the basement the proper way and joined the cables again, taking care to join the red-with-red, green-with-green, etc.

Now my keypad upstairs is blank and does not seem to have any power. The motion sensors also do not seem to be working and if I open a door, the keypad does not make the usual beep-beep anymore.

I have a DSC PC1550- I found this out by opening the alarm box and looking at the motherboard inside. The keypad does not have any model numbers in it. It's not monitored by anyone.

I think something is broken probably a short circuit somewhere. What could be my problem? How can I diagnose it and how much will it cost me to fix it?

Thanks for any help on this. Nothing much is coming up in Google...

Check the fuses on the upper part of the PC board in the system can (where the battery is located) The odds are that you popped the aux power fuse or the keypad fuse.
