I have a small Whirlpool fridge/freezer that is clicking on every 2 minutes, cycles on for about 5 seconds and then repeats. Everything seems to be working, it doesn't seem to be leaking. We unplugged it for 1 minute, it seemed to stop for about 10 minutes, but it's doing it again. It's just over 1 year old. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Bazouli,

The clicking will likely be the compressor overload relay.
It is a type of protector that will cut off the compressor if the housing overheats or draws too much current when starting.

It is likely doing its job and there may be a problem with the compressor.

Check with the store you bought it from to see if it is under warranty.

Should I be worried if the noise stopped? Everything is working, no noises. It stopped clicking within a few hours

There is no need to worry whatsoever...................it is only a fridge.

If the repeated clicking does not return there will likely be no future problems.
If you hear it again then it might be worthwhile getting checked.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it! My last fridge died on Super Bowl Sunday, it didn't owe me anything, but I was a little ticked. Again, Thanks!
