My machine works just fine until it gets to the point where the rinse water should empty out and the final spin should begin and from that point the dial completes the cycle but the rinse water is still standing. This is not a problem when the wash water empties and spins. Any help?

If the machine is capable of emptying and spinning on "Other Cycles" You can pretty much rule out belts and motors, and the simple "DIY" checks.....

I would suspect a timer failure....
