I was doing my final price comparisons last night at various web sites before I purchased my Ademco 20P when I came across the Elk M1 Gold system. It appears to have greater flexability than the 20P but at a significantly higher price. I did a search of the forums and didn't come up with any mention of the Elk system here. As my previous post describes, the system is for a 2nd home where I primarily want to monitor temperature but while I'm at it figured I would go ahead and install "typical" security applications for fire and break-in. The Elk web site has plenty of testimonials but I never trust that type of endorsement. Anyone here have experience with the Elk system?

The ELK is supposed to be a pretty good system (the company is sort of the legacy of the old Moose company that originated a lot of the features that are now pretty standard on most alarms). It is, however, being priced at a higher end point (small production runs, I suppose) than most current production systems.
I seen a few good reports on the panel from fellow techs, but sometimes you have to ask yourself if you will actually _use_ those high end features.
