HI,
i recently installed a new stelpro thermostat in my restroom. i was surprized to see that this thermostat was reading 3.5 degree under what my 3 upm htm511a stell me. At first i was figuring that the stelpro was wrong. so i bought 2 thermometer to do some testing. what was my surprise to realize that all my 3 years old UPM thermostat where wrong. all of them give me 3.5 celcius over the real temperature.
after doing some research i realize that this particular upm model htm511a was under recall in a particular energy efficiency program in quebec, canada ( where i live). apparently they dont meet the program parameter.
i wonder if other of you have this model bought between 2004 and 2005. apparently the thermostat bought after november 2005 and with serial number starting with 04083701 are ok.
i can now understand why it was so cold at home with this bad reading. thinking its 21 degree when in fact its 17,5...
