I'm considering a hybrid wired/wireless GE Concord system. The advertised range of the NX 454 Micro wireless door/window sensor is 500' in open air. Does anyone have any experience with the real-world range of this sensor in a residence with wood frame/dry wall construction?

Thanks

Figure on about 2/3 of that range, in todays electronically noisy environments. The devices are really good, actually, but they were designed before the era of bluetooth, wireless networking, and cordless and cellular phones being omnipresent.

I would look at the new Design Line Slim Door Window Sensor (part #TX-1010-01) also. Newer, thinner, longer battery life (2 lithium batteries), built in tamper switch, and can hardwire devices to it if needed. It also has a slightly larger antenna than the Micro DW sensor you refer to above (better range).
