Son bought a home built in 1958. When we pulled back carpet there were ten inch by ten inch tiles underneath. I can find info on nine by nine tiles but nothing on this size. I know they are very old. I have read all the info on safety with asbestos. I just would like to know if anyone has ever seen tiles like these?

Vinyl or linoleum tiles before the 1980's when asbestos was outlawed could have contained asbestos, as could have the adhesive. There is no way to tell if the flooring products contained asbestos without having an asbestos test done because asbestos particles are microscopic. Flooring coverings containing asbestos are best encapsulated. There are many floating floor options available today that can be installed over asbestos flooring without disturbing it.
