I moved into a house with a pre-existing Brinks system, and I am replacing the panel with a Concord 4. I am wondering how to rehook up what appears to be a heat/smoke detector.

Seven hardwired zones were clearly labelled on the Brinks board, but in zone 8 I had a 4-wire device plugged in: Green to grnd, Yellow to Z8, Blck to Siren, and Red to Fire. Im curious as to how I would wire this to the Concord board. I am also assuming that my other smoke detectors throughout the house arent wired into the system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

4 wire smokes wire a bit oddly in concords. Look on page 12 of your installer manual.

Negative power and zone common go to the ground terminal. Zone Normally Open goes to zone terminal 7, postive power goes to zone terminal 8. There is, of course, a bit of programming to make this work.

Thanks for the reply! I wire it up that way and worry about the programming when I get there.

Don't forget to add EOLR. Brink's does noy use them for burg devices. They do use one for the fire zone, so that one will need to be replaced.
