I am redoing one of our girls rooms for a den and the peach fabric wall covering just ain't doing it! It was applied on a painted wall with starch. It is a nice enough texture but I wonder if it is safe to paint over and, if not, what the best method of removing it would be. Thanks for the assist.

Welcome to the forums!

It is almost always better to remove the paper versus painting over it. Water and elbow grease are the 2 main ingrediants to removing wall paper. Scoring the paper will help the water to get behind the paper and disolve the adhesive.

If this wallcovering is indeed fabric, it will strip leaving only the glue behind. Use a pump type garden sprayer with warm water and DIF wallstripper solution. Warm water will work but the DIF will speed up the process.
