Hello all,
My son just bought a ranch house that has some blond colored brick, full size brick, but like a veneer, underneath the picture window.
He wants to stain this brick to better match the color of the siding.
He does not want to paint the brick, because that might cause a constant maintenance headache......but if he stained it, I would think the stain would last longer......no peeling, etc.
What type of stain could he use, and how would it be done?
thank you......Frank D.

usually but, occasionally, mortar jnts,,, any brickyard should be able to help in buff-roch,,, our mtls're proprietary but there are stains avail, frank,,, just be sure they're uv-resist AND that the brick'll accept 'em,,, new bricks're oven-fir'd harder'n old brick.

Thank you......I'll try checking with thruway supply or miller brick.....the bricks are a light blond/yellow and they are over 20 years old......

There are companies that do brick staining. Anything you as a homeowner will be able to buy is paint, no matter what they may call it. Fired clay does not accept normal stains.
