Hi,

I have a Sony KP-53XBR45(Rear Projector TV) that is being sitting in one my rooms for a long time. I just recently start using it and noticed that the picture is slowly fading. It is not as bright as it was originally. I am looking for some advice. Is there any Bulb that I can replace so I can get a better picture? Or should I go buy a new LCD TV? I hate to get rid of this baby since it has not been used for the past 3-4 years. Does anybody have a service manual that I can have?

Thanks,

Nash

Could be the lamp(s) or the fluid has gotten cloudy. Both of these are advanced DIY repairs. If that set is over ten years old you have to weigh the $150 (and up) cost of repair against the price of a new set. With a 10-year-old TV you could be throwing good money after bad. Something else could go wrong at any time.

I wish there was a freebie source for service manuals online, but I haven't found a reliable one. There are any number of sites that will sell you a manual.
