I know this questions has probably been asked a lot of late - but here it is one more time:
We are in the market for a vacation home in the Northeast - MA, NH, ME, VT. Is this is a good time to buy or should we wait for a few more months (or longer)?
Any of the above markets better than the rest? Thinking roughly $200K.
Thanks in advance.

Don't know about the northeast, but it's a good time to buy one in Florida.:coffee:

The trouble with vacation property is that - folks who can afford that type of property are, typically, not affected by the current real estate crisis. They have enough disposable income to be able to purchase such property without worrying about dips in the economy. That being said - vacation property, while a "niche property" tends to maintain it's value simply because the people who buy it - can afford it. A generality, to be sure - and there are exceptions - but don't expect those prices to drop considerably in the near future.
