Hello,
My master bath has slate on the floor and in the morning it is very very cold. (Low of -30 this past morning) The baseement below is unfinished which brings me to my question.
Since the basement is unfinished, is there anything I can put up against the plywood floor that could heat the tile above?

Once I finish the basement I would guess that that floor will warm up slightly?

Unfinished? Is there insulation under this floor?

YES. There are under floor heating products designed for just that application.:cool:

no there is no insulation yet under the floor.

Do you have a name of a product so that I could do some research on these products? Any recommendations that maybe you have had luck with?

Radiant heat (water) can be retrofitted in a situation like this. It's obviously better to install before the tile, but you can go from underneath as long as you have access.

I know this will be tuff to answer, but any idea on what putting radiant heat in a room like this would run? The room is probably 75 square feet in size.

Would you use your same hot water heater or do you have to get something seperate for this?

Any idea on what the maintenance cost on radiant heat is?

Can you put down that under tile electric heat at all that you see at home centers?
