I'm interested in laying a tile(ceramic,slate,etc.) floor in my kitchen. There is linoleum down now.
How do i go about doing this myself?

First step is to remove the vinyl. Second step is to tell us what you find underneath the vinyl. If this is on a wood framed floor, then remove any 1/4" underlayment under the vinyl as well. Removing the vinyl and any 1/4" underlayment at the same time is easiest.:)
