We have a 1966 Caloric Compacto 30 range. The upper oven does not keep correct temperatures. I assume that the thermostat is faulty. How do I find the model of the stove and type of thermostat ?

Hello madriverskier. Welcome to Gas Appliances topic and our Do-It-Yourself Web Site.
The model number can be located just about anywhere. Not exactly sure where nor familiar with the model. Look for the model number plate behind the stove or inside the oven/broiler. May be in the bottom below the broiler plate or on the door frame or under the top lid, etc.
If your gas utility company offers a thermostat calibration, the thermostat may just need to be re-calibrated.Which is not a do it yourself task. Must be done by a professional.
Thermostat type by brand name may be visible once the temp knob is removed and the chrome trim ring is removed. Model number not likely visible until thermostat is removed.
Check with a local appliances parts store in your area. Bring at least the brand name with you. Caloric brand now made by Maytag. Refer to info below.
