Hi, I have a Kenmore dryer that I'm trying to replace the dryer motor. I'm having difficulty removing the motor. I've put a wrench on the motor and used a screw driver to try to hold the blower. I turned the wrench clockwise since it's supposed to have left-hand threads. But I can't seem to get it off.

I posted photos at: http://picasaweb.google.com/gtmtnbiker/DryerPhotos

There doesn't seem to be a good way to hold the blower securely in order to take it off. If you look at the second photo, there's some sort of black cover that is made of meter that covers the shaft which connects the dryer motor. It doesn't seem easy to take off. I'm wondering if I need to take the black cover off? Or do I continue to try to remove the blower?

Thanks for any advice.

Doing a more extensive Google search, I was able to find this link: http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/showthread.php?t=12119

There's a good video that shows how to remove the motor. So to answer my question, yes, I need to remove the black clip with the pliers. This will expose some sort of nut that I can use to help disengage the motor from the blower.
