I have a fridgidair gas dryer. The other day I noticed a lot of lint in back of the dryer on the wall. When I move the dryer away from the wall to sweep out the lint I inspected the dryer exhaust hose(from the dryer to the wall)and found a few holes in the hose. So I bought a new hose ,cleaned the lint from the dryer duct and the vent in the wall, and after much wrestling and cursing finally got the hose connected and clamped to both sides. And now the dryer does not catch any lint. The lint trap is empty even after I dried some towels,and that is not normal. I know I did something wrong but I don't know what. Any ideas??

Why the dryer suddenly isn't catching any lint in the lint filter screen is a mystery. It should be. If the items in the dryer are drying properly, within the same time period as prior, the blower is exhausting warm air, etc. just may be not enough lint in items. Not exactly sure why...:confused:
Check the volume of warm air discharged at the exhaust hood. Be sure the venting tube isn't kinked or bent. Dry more items over a time period of normal usage and note the results. This may only be a one time occurrence.

Thank you for responding so fast. Nothing is kinked,That was the first thing I checked. I also checked the outside vent and cleaned it out. The air pressure seems to be strong and warm. Late (late) last night I remembered that when I was struggling to put the hose on the dryer vent the vent was removable,so I pulled it out (there was a lot of lint down there too) and I noticed a rubber band or maybe it was a rubber gasket wrapped around the duct. I bet I didnt put it on right,and now there isn't enough suction or pressure or something. I will check that later today and let you know.
