This isn't a flooring question, exactly, but a tile question. Can you put unglazed ceramic tile in a shower stall? I know I've seen it done, but I wonder if there would be any problems with doing it. Is it too porous, or would it still be okay to use in a shower?

Sure you can, and it's actually preferred on floors at least. Can be used on walls but it isn't very often, should be either a porcelain or quarry, something very dense that is impervious.

Do you have anything specific in mind?

Natural stone tiles are used in showers all the time and they are much more porous than any ceramic tile.

Go for it!
