Thanks in advance.
Tonight I bought some replacement windows (originals were from 1969 and horrible) and have 2 days under the contract to cancel so want to see if anyone has an opinion on if I got jobbed...
Am getting 7 Plygem vinyl windows (6 sliding standard size, 1 large three pane casement picture window) for $4700 including installation and tax.
Thoughts?

The one large 3-lite window basically counts as 3 individual windows, just mulled together into one. There is usually a slight discount figured in when they're mulled together like that.
So it's almost like you're getting 9 windows in 7 openings. 4700 / 9 = roughly $620 each which is an average price for replacement windows installed. So the only question would be the quality of the window... the glass package you chose, the quality of the installation, etc.
The estimate itself sounds reasonable to me.

$600 - $625 a hole.
What's the siding? What's the interior work to be dealt with?
Nothing but questions from here on out --
What are the windows? Low-E? (I wouldn't do anything less!)
Gas filled? (If you aren't in a really cold climate, you probably don't need it.)
Grids?
White or tan?

7/8" Hi-R 4.2 Glass with Low-E and Argon

Our house is all brick, they will replace any rotted wood around the original windows.
Thanks for the quick response.

this is more of a question.(for my information)
how are they going to go about replacing the windows?
will the replacements - actualy be the same size as the old, or-2" smaller to allow to reframe an accessable surface from the outside?
just curious

Not sure how they will do it. That's why I'm hiring them :D

Sounds like an average price then. A colored exterior usually runs a little higher than white vinyl. I've never really understood how the color can affect the cost so much, since white is a color too.
