The extension on my house is going to be 32 feet long x 14 wide with no interior walls. There will be a 24' section that will have a 7 pitch with the remainder of the building configured with a lay over reverse gable. My questions are:
1) Will a 14 " microlam beam be sufficient for the ridge?
2)The front rafters will seat on the wall, can the back rafters be set to the face of a structural microlam girder with tekos or do they have to sit on top of the girder.
3)Ceiling joists will be 24 feet long, is it ok to set a flush girder at the midpoint and nail the ends to the sides of the rafters?
Thanks for any info,
Ralph
