We had an electrician install two lights over a painting. When one of he bulbs burned out it turned out that changing it is not that easy. As best as I can tell the fixture is a recessed low voltage fixture with a reflective bulb which is in a housing which moves so you can direct it on the painting. I can't fugure how to get the bulb out of the metal housing. I removed the sloted cover but that is as far as I have been able to get.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Charles

with the little info you have given, it is difficult to tell you how to remove the lamp.

Some lights have a trim that pulls down, sometimes off, sometimes retained by spring wires.

any idea the manufacturer or (heaven forbid I ask) the model?

in the long run, it would be better to get a different style so the bulb can be changed easier.

if the bulbs are flood lamps and you can get to the front of the ressessed bulb, a good piece of floded Foam tape 3" wide x 3"long , but was with acetone first to get a good stick, and a metal torowel (boncert) adhered to the tape will force the bulb to unscrew fron those aluminum sockets.

if its an incadecent , ... hmmm ... find a plastic (as in rubbermade stuff) put this foam tape inside (1/2" wide along the mouth, that JUST fits over the bulb, the glass buld now WILL UNSCREW !!! USE ACETONE TO REMOVE THE BULB FROM THE TAPE ! that tape has fantastic holding and sticking power, if the surfaces are WIPED CLEAN OF ANY OILS AND DIRT !
